Knights of Alturia Scratch, read closely
01The chronicle opens — and a flag
ntered into the roll on 1 April 2021 alongside the reel version, this is the scratchcard cousin of Knights of Alturia from Boldplay. I am flagging it plainly at the top: this is a scratch/instant-win game, not a spinning pokie, so if you came looking for reels and free spins, this is not that.
The screen is laid out as three scratch rows — GAME1, GAME2 and GAME3 — each a short line of icy panels you reveal to see if you have matched a prize. There are no reels, no paylines and no bonus rounds in the pokie sense.
02Theme and atmosphere
The dressing is lifted straight from the slot: crystal-blue ruins, a pale moon, and the same cast of king, sorceress and axe-and-shield crest as the panels behind the scratched surface. A marquee 'Scratch Pot' sign glows top-left.
It looks the part, but a scratchcard is a scratchcard — the atmosphere is decoration over a very simple reveal-and-match game.
03How the game is played
You buy a card at your chosen stake — £2.00 in my run — and reveal the panels across the three game rows. Each panel shows either a symbol or a prize value; match the rule of each row and you win the amount shown.
In my session the revealed values included a 1, a 120 and an 80 across the rows, and one card settled a win of 1.48 at the £2.00 stake. It is instant: buy, scratch, see the result, repeat.
04The Scratch Pot
The one genuine hook is the progressive Scratch Pot in the top-left corner. In my run it read £34,784.00 — a shared, growing jackpot that can drop on a qualifying card. That figure is real and rising; it is not a fixed prize.
As with any progressive, the pot is funded by a slice of every stake, which is part of why the return-to-player sits where it does. It is the reason to play this over the plain reel game, if a jackpot chase is what you want.
05RTP, volatility and max win
The pool lists the return at 92.13% — well below the benchmark you would expect from a pokie, which is typical for scratchcards and something to go in with your eyes open about. Volatility is marked low.
The standard top prize is a modest 250× stake, sitting under the progressive Scratch Pot. So the everyday ceiling is small, and the big money is all in that shared jackpot.
06Who it suits
This suits players who actively want a quick instant-win scratch experience with a progressive jackpot to chase, and who like the Alturia dressing. It is fast and needs no strategy.
If you want a proper pokie — reels, wilds, free spins — play the reel version of Knights of Alturia instead; this scratch build has a lower 92.13% return and a small 250× base ceiling. Whatever you choose, set a limit before you start and treat it as entertainment. Free, confidential support is at safergambling.org.nz and the Gambling Helpline on 0800 654 655. 18+.
07In short
An honest scratchcard, not a pokie: quick, simple, and carried entirely by its progressive Scratch Pot, which read £34,784 in my run. The 92.13% return and 250× base ceiling are low by slot standards, as scratchcards tend to be. Judged as what it is,

A shared, growing jackpot shown top-left can drop on a qualifying card. It read £34,784.00 in my session and rises as players buy cards.

As a scratchcard there is no reel pay panel. The real values here are what my cards revealed at a £2.00 stake: panel prizes of 1, 80 and 120, a settled win of 1.48, and a progressive Scratch Pot of £34,784.00. Nothing here is invented.
