Age of Knights, read closely
011. First muster
he blazon is deliberately silly — a wooden tournament board strung between two purple castle towers, with a little squire hauling a bucket up the turret in the corner. The charges are cartoon shields bearing card letters, plus a trumpet, a helm, an armoured knight and a gauntlet clutching a flower.
It's old, and it wears its age plainly. This is comic, low-fi slot-making from a bygone era rather than anything modern or polished.
022. What the pool roll records — and a title note
The facts I can stand behind: provider InBet Games, released 21 February 2015, with a maximum win of 9,000x the stake — a surprisingly big ceiling for a game this old. The RTP is blank and the volatility is unrated; I won't invent either.
One honest caveat for the chronicle: the pool lists this as 'Age of Knights', but the demo client I ran it in displayed the title 'The Knightly Era'. Same game, different signage — flagging it so nobody's caught out by the name on the reels.
033. The charges on the reels
The muster is mostly cartoon card royals — A, K, Q, J, 10 and a green 9 — painted onto shields. The themed charges are a marching knight, a plumed silver helm, a red herald's trumpet and a gauntlet holding a white flower.
No pay table surfaced in my run and the pool records no readable multipliers, so every bounty below is entered after the session. I'd rather leave the column blank than blazon a guess.
044. The features
The sheet is short and classic: free spins, a multiplier, scatter symbols and a wild. There's no hold-and-win, no money-collect, none of the modern machinery — this is a straightforward lines-and-free-spins pokie over ten paylines.
How the multiplier and free spins pay out I couldn't measure from the single demo frame, so treat the feature detail as listed-but-unverified.
055. Gameplay in the demo
Honestly, there's little to report — my capture caught the board at 'Please place your bet', ten lines set and a FUN balance ticking. It's a period piece: simple, cheap-and-cheerful, and clearly built for a different age of the reels.
The 9,000x ceiling is the one intriguing number. Whether the maths behind it is any good I can't say, because the RTP simply isn't recorded.
066. Who it suits
For players with a soft spot for old-school cartoon pokies and a curiosity about that big 9,000x number. As a nostalgia spin, it has a certain charm.
Anyone who wants a published RTP, a variance rating and modern features should look elsewhere on the roll. Whatever you spin, keep it 18+, set a limit and stop when it stops being fun. NZ support: safergambling.org.nz and the Gambling Helpline on 0800 654 655.
077. In short
An aged, cartoonish curiosity with an eye-catching 9,000x ceiling but almost nothing else documented — no RTP, no volatility, and a title that doesn't even match its own signage. A minor, museum-piece entry.
Enter it on the roll as an old squire kept for sentiment rather than service.
