What the register actually says

We checked the official Curaçao Gaming Authority Online Gaming Licence Registry, snapshot dated 26 June 2026, and the row reads: OGL/2024/1307/0748, Scores55 Tech N.V., B2C, 162990, December 24 2025, N/A, Indefinite. In plain words: a business-to-consumer licence, in force since Christmas Eve 2025, with no expiry date attached. Alongside Hollycorn N.V. and Dama N.V., that is the strongest standing available in this pool.

Now the caveat that most review sites leave out. The Curaçao register lists companies, not brands. So when we say the licence is verified, we mean the licensee and the number really exist and really are in that state. The link between the brand RocketPlay and Scores55 Tech N.V. comes from operator and review sources, not from the register, and we write it as claimed rather than proven.

There is a second wrinkle worth knowing. The same register contains a separate licensee literally named Rocket Play B.V., registration 168766, on OGL/2024/2413/1228 and marked Assessment in progress. Which of the two entities actually operates rocketplay.com cannot be resolved from the register. Older reviews also cite a legacy number, 8048/JAZ2020-13, which other sources attribute to a different brand entirely; it is contradictory and we ignore it.

How the New Zealand angle checks out

The operator runs an own-domain New Zealand locale at rocketplay.com/en-NZ/, billed as the best online casino in New Zealand for 2026, which we confirmed on 27 July 2026. That matters more than it sounds: plenty of brands are marketed at New Zealanders only by affiliates, with nothing on the operator's own site to back it up. Here the targeting is the operator's own.

On currency, we are less certain. A review dated 4 March 2026 states the platform accepted NZD at the time of testing, and quotes a New Zealand high-roller offer in NZD. We could not confirm that first-hand, so the currency row on this page carries the word unconfirmed and will keep it until someone opens a cashier and looks.

The stable it can actually field

RocketPlay lists 5,000-plus slots from more than 90 providers, and its provider lists name Pragmatic Play and Play'n GO explicitly, along with NetEnt, Nolimit City, Quickspin, Relax, Push and studios of the Hacksaw tier. For a register built on knight slots, those two names are the ones that decide whether the shelf is stocked, and both are there.

The house has been running since 2020, which makes it the most established brand in this codex. Longevity is not a virtue by itself, but a casino that has been paying, or failing to pay, for six years leaves a longer public record than one that opened last spring.

Complaints, and what we could not check

casino.guru reports RocketPlay is not on any relevant blacklist and carries a very low sum of disputed winnings relative to its size, checked 27 July 2026. That is a genuinely good signal and it is why this charter sits first. A separate industry article claims every public complaint was closed during 2025; it comes from an operator-favourable trade source and we have not confirmed it independently, so treat it as marketing rather than evidence.

What we could not do: rocketplay.com would not load from our address, because a DNS-level block answered instead of the site. That means no footer read first-hand, no cashier seen, no terms page read. Region-gating for some countries is likely. Everything above is register-derived and search-derived, and this page says so rather than implying a visit we did not make.

One practical warning. There is a large ecosystem of mirror and doorway domains around this brand — rocketplay-casino.eu, rocketplayau.casino, rocketplay-online.com, rocketplaylucky.com and more. The operator domain is rocketplay.com. Anything else is somebody else's advertising, and possibly somebody else's cashier.

The 2026 rule change, and why it matters here

The premise most New Zealand casino guides still repeat — that there is no local online casino licence and the market is offshore by default — was true until this year. The Online Casino Gambling Act 2026 has commenced and is in force, and the Online Casino Gambling Regulations 2026 have been released. The Department of Internal Affairs states that implementation is being phased in and is not expected to be fully operational until 2027, and that the licensing process is being launched. We read that on dia.govt.nz on 27 July 2026.

Secondary industry and legal sources add more, and we flag it as unconfirmed because it is not on the DIA page: the Act reportedly took effect on 1 May 2026 and applies to any operator enabling a New Zealand-based person to gamble regardless of where the operator is incorporated; expressions of interest reportedly opened on 17 July 2026 with submissions due 14 August 2026 and an auction around September 2026; roughly 15 brand-specific licences with three-year terms are reported; and from 1 December 2026 only licensed operators may reportedly offer and advertise online casino games to New Zealand residents.

If that reporting is right, this whole codex has a shelf life. RocketPlay holds no New Zealand licence, because nobody does yet. We will re-check the DIA position after the auction and change the pool to match — and we would rather tell you the clock is running than let this page age quietly.

What we will do before this page carries a score

Read the footer first-hand in a browser and confirm the licence number printed on site matches OGL/2024/1307/0748. Open the cashier and confirm NZD in the currency selector. Read the terms and confirm New Zealand is not in the restricted-countries list. Deposit our own coin, play the knights of this register, withdraw, and time all three legs of it.

Until every one of those is done, this page prints no score, no welcome figure and no payout speed. A number invented before the work is done is not a shortcut, it is a fabrication.

What we have not done: deposited our own coin, timed a withdrawal, or read the footer first-hand — rocketplay.com is blocked from our address at DNS level. So there is no score on this page, and no payout figure.

Whatever you decide, decide the number first. A welcome offer is a reason to play a house, never a reason to play more than you meant to.
