Felix Gaming ·Medium–high volatility ·RTP 96.58% (range setting)

Book of Knight Hold and Win is Felix Gaming welding two proven engines together — a Book of expanding-symbol free-spins mode and a shield-collecting hold-and-win with fixed jackpots. Five reels, a healthy 96.58% RTP, MED-HIGH volatility and a proper 5,000x maximum win printed right on the felt. The shots below are my own demo run at a 0.50 bet.

Book of Knight Hold and Win, read closely

011. First muster

he blazon is a candle-lit hall: gilded card royals, a jewelled grail, a two-headed axe, a burning torch and a green spellbook clasped in gold. Across the top sit three fixed jackpots — MEGA, MAJOR and MINI — and along the bottom the honest promise 'WIN UP TO 5000 X BET'.

It wears its influences plainly. This is a Book-plus-Hold-and-Win, and it doesn't pretend otherwise — but both halves are well drawn and well tuned.

022. What the pool roll records

Straight from the roll: provider Felix Gaming, RTP 96.58%, volatility MED-HIGH, maximum win 5,000x the stake, released 2 September 2025. The on-screen 'WIN UP TO 5000 X BET' matches the pool figure exactly — always reassuring.

A 96.58% return is the most generous on my muster, and a 5,000x ceiling gives the top end real teeth. This is the numbers-strong knight of the roll.

033. The charges on the reels

The jewelled grail sits top of the premiums, followed by the axe and torch, then the gilded 10-J-Q-K-A royals. The green spellbook is the Book scatter and expanding symbol — it landed on reel one in my run and lit the pay line.

In the hold-and-win, wooden shields carry cash values — I read 1.00 and 0.50 on the reels — and a bronze MINI shield dropped in during my collect. A clean line of 3 K's paid 0.25 at my 0.50 stake, the sort of small tick the base game trades in between features.

044. Two features, one book

The Book side is classic: trigger free spins, a special expanding symbol is chosen, and it fans out across the reels to fill in wins. Additional free spins and a random multiplier feed it.

The Hold and Win side is the shield collect: enough coin-shields lock the round, respins refill them, and the fixed jackpots — MEGA 500.00, MAJOR 50.00, MINI 10.00 at my 0.50 bet — sit at the top of the ladder. A buy feature is on the menu for players who don't want to wait for the muster.

055. How the demo session felt

Busy in a good way. The base game keeps you in small change — that 0.25 line — while the shields and the book dangle the real upside. The MED-HIGH rating felt fair: not brutal, but you're clearly playing toward the features, not the base pays.

With a 96.58% RTP behind it and a legible 5,000x target, this is the sort of pokie you can settle into without feeling short-changed by the maths.

066. Who it suits

Made for players who like both Book slots and hold-and-win jackpots and are happy to have them stapled together. The strong RTP and 5,000x ceiling make it an easy recommend for feature-hunters.

If you dislike buy-feature-driven designs or want lower variance, temper expectations. Whatever you spin, keep it 18+, set a limit and stop when it stops being fun. NZ support: safergambling.org.nz and the Gambling Helpline on 0800 654 655.

077. The chronicler's blazon

A confident two-engine build with the best numbers on my roll — 96.58% RTP, 5,000x max — and both features well realised. Only its familiarity keeps it from a perfect mark.

Blazon it near the top of the muster: derivative, yes, but properly made and generously tuned.

Rules of the game

Grid & bet

Five reels, played at a 0.50 FUN bet in my run. The felt prints 'WIN UP TO 5000 X BET'.

Book free spins

The spellbook is scatter and expanding symbol — trigger free spins, and a chosen special symbol expands to fill wins, with additional free spins and a random multiplier.

Hold and win & jackpots

Coin-shields (I read 1.00 and 0.50 values) lock a hold-and-win respin round. Three fixed jackpots read MEGA 500.00 / MAJOR 50.00 / MINI 10.00 at my 0.50 bet.

Buy feature

A buy feature lets you pay directly into the bonus rather than waiting for it to trigger.

Full symbol multipliers weren't shown as a clean table, so per-symbol pays are entered after the session. Real figures I read at a 0.50 bet: a line of 3 K's paid 0.25; hold-and-win shields carried 1.00 and 0.50; fixed jackpots MEGA 500.00 / MAJOR 50.00 / MINI 10.00; and the felt confirms a 5,000x max win. No invented numbers.

How the chronicler rides it

The chronicler has ridden this knight. The plates below are frames from that session — our own screen, nothing borrowed.

The candle-lit hall: grail, axe and torch among gilded royals, the MEGA 500 / MAJOR 50 / MINI 10 jackpots overhead and 'WIN UP TO 5000 X BET' on the felt.
WinBook of Knight Hold and Win — Win
The green spellbook lands on reel one and the line lights — a small WIN of 0.25 from 3 K's at a 0.50 stake.
Hold and winBook of Knight Hold and Win — Hold and win
Wooden coin-shields lock across the right reels — 1.00, 0.50 and a bronze MINI — as the hold-and-win collect gets going.

Captured in our own session. Where a round has not been reached yet, the codex shows an honest blank rather than a borrowed picture.

Summa

The verdict

In its favour

  • Strongest numbers on the roll: 96.58% RTP and a 5,000x max win
  • Two proven engines — Book free spins and Hold and Win jackpots
  • Legible in-game values and a fair MED-HIGH variance

Against it

  • Derivative — you've met both halves before
  • Buy-feature-forward design won't suit everyone
  • Base game trades in small change between features
8
of 10

A well-made, generously tuned two-engine pokie from Felix Gaming with the best RTP and a proper 5,000x ceiling on my muster. Familiar, but the numbers and the build are hard to argue with.
