Knight Fight, read closely
01The chronicle opens
Entered into the roll on 14 October 2024, Knight Fight is a six-reel, five-row grid pokie from ELK Studios — no straight lines here, just clusters of matching charges that pay wherever they muster on adjacent tiles.
The setting is a deep blue woodland rather than a castle keep: crooked trees, a shaft of moonlight down the middle, and a cast of stout little knights who look ready for a scrap. It is charming rather than grand, and that suits ELK's playful hand.
02Theme and atmosphere
The charges are split between coloured shield-gems — green, blue, purple and red — that fill the lower ranks, and a muster of characters up top: a blue knight, a red-plumed knight, a purple swordsman and a green-hooded archer who could pass for Robin Hood.
Down at reel level a goat nuzzles a frothing tankard beside a golden Bonus banner, and a silver grail sits among the gems. It is a warm, slightly comic take on the medieval roll — closer to a tavern brawl than a tournament.
03How the game is played
Wins muster in clusters of matching charges, and every win tumbles: the paid symbols clear and new ones drop in, so a single spin can chain into several hits. My stake sat at €1.00 with a demo balance around €4,990.
The arrowhead is the wild, standing in for the paying charges to knit clusters together. An X-iter panel on the left lets you buy your way into the game's features at a fixed price, for players who would rather not wait for the muster.
04Bonus features
The signature is the CollectR — a sword-shaped bar to the right of the reels that gathers multiplier orbs as they land and tumble. In my run I watched orbs worth 5×, 10× and 25× feed into it, banking value for later payout.
Three shield slots above the CollectR track a level-up mechanic, filling as you play, and the goat-and-tankard Bonus symbol is the key to the free spins round. The feature list also names avalanche tumbles, a symbol swap, an energy collection and extra free spins — plenty of moving parts pulling toward the 10,000× ceiling.
05RTP, volatility and max win
The pool lists the return at 94%, which is on the lean side of the benchmark, so it is worth checking the panel at whichever casino you play in case a higher configuration is offered. ELK games often ship with more than one RTP setting.
Volatility is marked high, and the top prize is a hefty 10,000× stake. My session matched the label: modest tumble wins between €0.30 and €1.95 in the base game, with the real money clearly parked behind the features.
06Who it suits
This one suits players who enjoy a clustered, tumbling grid with a collection hook and a big top end — the CollectR gives every orb a reason to matter, and the X-iter buy is there if you want the features on demand.
If you prefer straightforward paylines or steady small wins, the high volatility here will feel choppy between features. Whichever way you lean, set a limit before you muster in and treat it as entertainment — if the pokies stop being fun, take a spell. 07The blazon in brief
A likeable, well-built ELK grid pokie: the CollectR multiplier bar and the tumbling clusters give it genuine character, even if the 94% base return asks you to check the panel first. I enter it in the chronicle at 7 out of 10.
